In this week’s Personality Profiles, we want to introduce you to both Charlie and Elaine Hynes. Elaine is the owner of Fishtales here in Lake Oconee. Her husband, Charlie, is a consultant and helps Elaine at the store.
They graciously took the time to answer a few of our questions.
Can you please tell our readers what you do for a living?
Elaine: I’m the owner of Fishtales.
Charlie: I am her husband who stops in the store to visit her and she puts me to work on Saturdays! I have also worked in supply chain for various retailers and as a consultant over the past 25 years.
How long have you lived in the Lake Country region?
Charlie: Since June of 2019.
Where are you originally from?

Elaine: I’m from Atlanta and Charlie moved around a lot as a kid, went to high school in
Brentwood, TN, and ended up in Atlanta at Georgia Tech for college.
What do you enjoy most about living here?
Charlie: The people and our friends; the lake activities of boating and jet skiing; Reynolds; the golf courses, spending time with our three boys, the community, the schools, Fishtales and the fact the store is much more to us and our customers than just a store to buy clothes, gifts, etc.
Where is your favorite place to eat in the region?
Charlie and Elaine: We enjoy The Tavern, Amici, Butts BBQ, The Ritz, Eighty Eight, and Cafe 44.
