Throughout the year, we will begin profiling each of our marketing partners so you can get to them a little better! This week, we’re featuring Scott Chamberlain from Caring Man in a Van.

Briefly, tell us about your organization.
Caring Man in a Van is a non-emergency personal care transportation company specifically for persons needing transportation by wheelchair or stretcher.

What do you feel is your biggest strength?
We treat our clients like they are family.  We guarantee on time service, with qualified drivers, clean vehicles, and make the transport a great experience.

What type of customers/clients/patients do you typically work with?
Senior Citizens mostly, with needs and assistance in attending events that normally they could not attend.  Not only do we offer transportation to medical appointments but family outings, weddings, funerals, and the likes.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The relationship we develop with our customers and the response of testimonials that we receive.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Our drivers sometimes state to me that they should pay me to allow them to work for the company.

What are some of your favorite places to visit in the Lake region?
We service the entire area with our services but personally love the restaurants.

Do you have any health and wellness tips for our readers?
I heard just today by a medical professional that if we could control diabetes nationwide, there would be no issues with the health care insurance industry.  We could afford any plan offered by the politicians. Cutting back on sugar, the amount of food we eat, 30 minutes of some form of exercise were the items that seemed so simple but the root of all evil of diabetes.

What are you personally most proud of?
The reception we received from consumers.  Starting with one van in the Athens area to growing to 50+ vans servicing north Georgia has let me know our business model was the right way to offer transportation by the Golden Rule.
